Prior to that, she was Senior Vice President of Operations and Client Management at Patient InfoSystems (Rochester, N.Y.), a publicly held, for-profit health care company specializing in the management of disease management health care programs and services. With over 20 years of experience in health care management, she has extensive experience in major account development and management; measurable cost controls; scalability; profitability and new product development, design and implementation. She holds a diploma of nursing from the Chester County School of Nursing and resides in Middletown, PA.

    Dr. Dennis Schultz serves as the Midwest Regional Director for QuadMed, a company which manages more than 100 employer sponsored primary care clinics. Prior to joining QuadMed he completed residencies in Family and Occupational Medicine, served as a faculty at the University of Utah and Medical College of Wisconsin and practiced in a variety of health care settings. Dr. Schultz has extensive knowledge of accreditation with 20 years of experience with AAAHC. In addition to being a AAAHC surveyor, has been on numerous committees and has served 13 years as a Board Member.

Patricia Marine Barrett, MHSA
Vice President for Product Development, NCQA, Washington, DC

    Speaker Bio

    Tricia Marine Barrett joined NCQA in 2008 as the Vice President for Product Development. In this role, she is responsible for exploring new product concepts and evolving existing products to meet the needs of a changing health care environment. Prior to joining NCQA, Ms. Barrett was the lead consultant for General Motors on managed care. As HAP Associate Vice President and the Program Director for the HAP/GM Managed Care Consulting Team, she was responsible for evaluating the quality and efficiency of GM's managed care offerings nationally and for establishing supplier development activities with all of GM's HMOs. In this role, she participated on the NCQA Purchaser Advisory Council, the National Business Coalition on Health eValue8 Steering Committee and served as an author and scorer for the eValue8 RFI. She was also a member of the NCQA HEDIS Policy Panel and served as the Chairperson for the Measurement Committee of the Michigan Quality Improvement Consortium (MQIC). Ms. Barrett attended the University of Michigan receiving her Bachelors degree in Sociology and a Masters Degree in Health Services Administration from the School of Public Health.

    Kylanne Green is President and CEO of URAC, a national accreditation leader. A Registered Nurse and Adult Nurse Practitioner by background, Ms. Green has more than 40 years of experience in health care delivery and insurance strategy and operations. Most recently, she served as Executive Vice President and CEO of Care Management and Health Plan Operations for Inova Health System. She was responsible for managed care and insurance services and health plan operations as well as care management and a range of hospital and non-hospital operations. Ms. Green served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Health Insurance Association of America, Chief Operating Officer of Aetna Health Plans of the Mid-Atlantic, and held various leadership positions at Kaiser Permanente, where she spent the first 16 years of her career. She also serves on a number of academic, community service and private industry boards, and is a past member of the Council on Graduate Medical Education.

    Speaker Bio

    Lon Berkeley has been with The Joint Commission since 1997 as Project Director for Community Health Center Accreditation. In addition, he is Co-Project Lead for the Joint Commission's Primary Care Medical Home Initiative, which was launched in 2011 for accredited Ambulatory Care organizations, in 2013 for accredited Hospitals/Critical Access Hospitals with primary care practices, and in 2014 for accredited Behavioral Health Care organizations providing or associated with primary care practices.

    Prior to The Joint Commission, Lon was formerly Executive Director of the Illinois Primary Health Care Association which represents and provides assistance to over 50 health centers throughout Illinois. Also, he has worked in public health policy, health planning, and as a community health educator. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Yale University, and his Masters of Science in Health Policy & Management from the Harvard University School of Public Health.

    Alan Manning is Chief Operating Officer of Planetree, Inc., based in Derby, CT. He is dedicated to putting patients first, through process-improvement and human capital enhancement, and to reconnecting healthcare providers with purpose and giving them the tools necessary to care for patients successfully. Within his role, Alan facilitates a variety of leadership development and management sessions for organizations. From keynote presentations to small group training, and multi-day workshops to online training sessions, Alan has experience engaging participants and generating excitement based on actionable recommendations. He has also facilitated countless patient and staff focus groups across the continuum of care, providing him unique insights into the vital perspectives of those living and working in healthcare. Concurrently, Alan and his wife started an organization dedicated to providing resources to critically ill children and the people who are dedicated to caring for them. He is also an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at Texas A&M College of Medicine.

    Dr. Jerry Abraham is currently a Resident Physician at the University of Southern California (USC) Family Medicine Residency Program at California Hospital Medical Center (CHMC) in Downtown Los Angeles. Dr. Abraham has worked on Global Health projects around the world, collaborating with the World Bank, the World Health Organization and the United Nations in sub-Saharan Africa, throughout Latin America & the Caribbean, the Middle East and South Asia preventing injuries and promoting safety. Dr. Abraham currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the California Medical Association (CMA), the Board of Trustees of the American College of Medical Quality (ACMQ), and the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles County Medical Association (LACMA). He is also a Delegate of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) to the American Medical Association (AMA) House of Delegate and also serves as a Delegate to the Committee on Interns and Residents (CIR).     Dr. Jerry Abraham is currently a Resident Physician at the University of Southern California (USC) Family Medicine Residency Program at California Hospital Medical Center (CHMC) in Downtown Los Angeles. Dr. Abraham has worked on Global Health projects around the world, collaborating with the World Bank, the World Health Organization and the United Nations in sub-Saharan Africa, throughout Latin America & the Caribbean, the Middle East and South Asia preventing injuries and promoting safety. Dr. Abraham currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the California Medical Association (CMA), the Board of Trustees of the American College of Medical Quality (ACMQ), and the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles County Medical Association (LACMA). He is also a Delegate of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) to the American Medical Association (AMA) House of Delegate and also serves as a Delegate to the Committee on Interns and Residents (CIR). He is the Founder and Chair of the Quality Improvement & Patient Safety Housestaff Committee and currently serves as a member of the National Health Service Corps (NHSC). He has authored more than 100 articles in major journals, edited 22 books, and is editor-in-chief of four major national journals.

    Dr. Marci Nielsen is Chief Executive Officer of the Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative (PCPCC). She previously served as Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs and Associate Professor within the Department of Health Policy and Management at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, where she was twice awarded Professor of the Year by her students. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City, TransforMED, LLC (a wholly owned, non-profit subsidiary of the American Academy of Family Physicians), and the MidAmerica Coalition on Health Care. She also has been a committee member on the Institute of Medicine's Leading Health Indicators for Healthy People 2020 and Living Well with Chronic Illness: A Call for Public Health Action. She serves as the first public (non-physician) member on the American Board of Family Medicine. Prior to rejoining the KU faculty, she was appointed by then-Governor Kathleen Sebelius to oversee Kansas' health care agency, the Kansas Health Policy Authority (KHPA). At the national level, she has worked as a legislative assistant to U.S Senator Bob Kerrey (D-Nebraska) and as the health lobbyist and assistant director of legislation for the AFL-CIO. She earned her MPH degree from George Washington University and her PhD in Health Policy and Management from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.

    Christopher Kay is Senior Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer at Humana. He is a member of the Management Team, which sets the strategic direction for the company.

    Chris is a keen innovator with a passion for creating new businesses in large global organizations and for launching products and services that enhance the consumer experience. He most recently served as Managing Director and CEO of Citi Ventures, Citigroup's global corporate venturing arm. At Citi Ventures, he pioneered efforts to simplify and improve the banking experience for Citi's millions of customers through use of digital, mobile, data, and other customer-centric solutions. Chris and his team also invested in and worked closely with a portfolio of companies to accelerate time-to-market of new capabilities at Citi.

    Dr. Roy Beveridge joined Humana in June 2013 as senior vice president and chief medical officer. He is responsible for developing and implementing Humana's clinical strategy, with an emphasis on advancing the company's integrated care delivery model, especially in the areas of quality and cost improvement. He reports directly to the president and chief executive officer and is a member of the executive team, which sets the strategic direction for the company. Previously, he served as chief medical officer for McKesson Specialty Health, a Dallas-based subsidiary of McKesson Inc.

    Dr. Beveridge earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University and a medical degree from Cornell University Medical College. He completed his residency in internal medicine at University of Chicago Hospitals and his fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital
